This is my dream villa in Africa. It is a relaxed, yet luxurious four-star beach villa tucked away on a small boulder strewn cove, next door to the famous Camps Bay Beach. Hidden from the crowd, this unique villa is the ultimate destination for the global traveller seeking privacy and bare-foot luxury. Located in a row of exclusive beach villas, built on the side of a hill and separated from the beach path by a white fence, this lovely villa offers uninterrupted ocean views, scents of the sea and the restful sound of the waves breaking on to the beach below.

The internationally famous owner has used all her artistic skills in creating the essence of sea-inspired relaxation, with hints of Zen in the decor. Decorated throughout in pure white and creams, the soft linen bed drapes set off the outstanding deep blue of the nearby ocean. The brushed white wood style is reminiscent of the Caribbean and Cape Cod villas.

 Beach Villa 11 is built on three levels, below the level of the road and next to the beach. Guests enter the villa on the top floor, where there is an open plan kitchen, living and dining area and a large sea-facing balcony. The second level has four bedrooms and three bathrooms with a sea facing balcony off the master bedroom. The third level is the ground floor with a second kitchen, living and dining area, a double-bedroom and bathroom. This level opens onto the pool and patio area, which is separated from the beach by a high white fence. There is a gate from the pool deck that leads to the beach path.

Access to the villa is from Victoria Road on the northern approach to Camps Bay. Step off the street and descend a private stairway. The large wooden, Moroccan styled outdoor entrance way keeps the rest of the world at bay. Descend a further flight of steps, past the flowing water feature, and enter the villa’s top floor.

The first impression is of the high, white timber ceilings and views of the sea framed by the patio doors. There is a touch of salty freshness around you and the overhead fans ensure a light breeze even on the hottest days.

When you step onto the balcony the sea is right in front of you, stretching to the horizon. There are large comfortable outdoor chairs with big cushions where you can dream away your days listening to the sea, soaking up the sun or enjoying cocktails as the sun sets in a golden ball. 

On entering the villa, the kitchen is on your left, with stairs leading down to the bedrooms. It is separated from the living area by a high serving top where you can sit and have an early breakfast or chat over coffee. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering including a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Next to the kitchen is a work station where you can catch up with your paper work if necessary.

In front and to the right of the entrance way are large white sofas around a white stone gas fireplace. Above the fireplace is a large plasma satellite TV and DVD player, where you can watch your favourite programmes. Or you can listen to music on the stereo radio. To the right of the entrance is a guest toilet and hand basin.

On the sea side of the living area is a long wooden dining table and benches overlooking the balcony. This is the perfect setting for casual meals shared by friends, or you could host a candlelit dinner with the sea as the backdrop. To the right of the dining area is a hanging woven-seat where you can tuck up with a good book.

 Step down to the next level. Here, there are four bedrooms leading off a corridor. Two bedrooms on the right side have a connecting bathroom, one on the left has a bathroom en-suite. The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom is at the end of the corridor overlooking the sea.

All the bedrooms have soft white towel dressing gowns for each guest. The bathrooms have a plentiful supply of delicately scented bath toiletries.

The master bedroom has a luxurious, white draped bed facing the sea. This has to be one of the most romantic settings of any bedroom in Cape Town, if not the whole of Africa. It is the perfect place for honeymooners. Large sliding glass doors lead on to a private balcony with outdoor chairs where you can soak up the sun. Looking out on to the balcony is a white day bed for an afternoon nap listening to the waves. To the right of the bed is an open-plan living room with white sofas and armchairs and a white pebble, gas fireplace for a romantic evening curled up with a glass of champagne in front of the fire. There is a plasma TV above the fireplace to enjoy your favourite films.

 The master bathroom, next to the living area, has a large, open window area so that you can soak in the large Jacuzzi bath and look at the sea views. A free flowing separate shower completes the bathroom. On the left side of the bathroom is a separate dressing room with plenty of cupboards, a hand basin and toilet.

The second bedroom, on the left side, has a romantic four-poster bed with soft white drapes and an en-suite bathroom. The marble tiled bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath and separate shower.

 The third bedroom, on the right side off the corridor, has a double bed with white drapes. A window opening to the side of the villa lets in plenty of light. There is an en-suite bathroom shared with the second bedroom on the same side. The bathroom has a marble-tiled shower and a vanity basin.

The fourth bedroom on the right side has two single beds which can be made up into a king-size bed. There is a window looking out onto the side of the villa. This bedroom shares the en-suite bathroom with the third bedroom.

A further set of stairs leads guests down to the ground floor. Here there is second complete entertaining area with a double bedroom en-suite; a fully equipped kitchen and wine fridge; a dining and living area with plasma TV. This opens out to the wooden patio and pool deck. This area can also be used as a separate suite for a member of a group or a staff member who requires more privacy.

The downstairs double-bedroom leads off the living area. In this bedroom there is an intricately carved Maori style, wooden four-poster bed, with views on to the pool deck. There is an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and separate shower.

The Moroccan style wooden deck has a sparkling splash pool, a large, canopied day bed for lounging around the pool, a gas barbecue and outdoor dining table, chairs and sun umbrella. This is a great place to barbecue and entertain friends.

A whitewashed pole fence separates the deck from the beach path. There is a door in the side wall which gives access to the beach path. A hot/cold outdoor shower is located near the door so that guests can wash off sand on their return from the beach.

Parking is on the street or there is a secure parking bay and a separate single car garage which is located a short walk from Beach Villa 11, next to Clifton Fourth Beach.

The villa has a modern central security alarm system. A small safe is available for valuables.

Guests are served a full English breakfast daily.

The villa is serviced Monday to Friday.

5  minutes' walk to Camps Bay, shops, bars and beach front.

15 minutes' drive to Cape Town Stadium.

20 minutes' drive to the Table Mountain cable car and central business disctrict (CBD)

40 minutes' drive from Cape Town International Airport.
